Objectives

The object of IMAF-Europe- is to bring together all Japanese Martial Arts together in one organisation. IMAF-Europe- strives to keeping the techniques at a very high level whilst ensuring that all other aspects are not forgotten.

History

IMAF - Europe - started with 7 countries in 1983 when Mr S Sato, General Advisor of IMAF Headquarters in Japan signed the regulations making IMAF - Europe - an autonomous Federation. These countries were England, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Italy, France and Holland.

During the World Congress held in Turin in 1986 there was a lot of internal problems arising. This led to a split from IMAF - Kokusei Budoin. A number of countries stayed with Kokusei Budoin, Austria, Denmark and France. Other countries including Holland, Belgium Italy and England moved with the IFNB (International Federation of Nippon Budo). Today IMAF - Europe - have representitives in Holland, Belgium, England, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia, Irland and Germany. IMAF - Europe - are still associated with the IFNB, who's honorary president was Minoru Mochizuki, the highest graded Budoka in Japan. He holds Aikido Meizin 10th Dan, Judo Hanshi 9th Dan, Iaido Hanshi 10th Dan and Supreme Meizin of Yoseikan Budo.
